A representative from HIMSS will provide an overview of the organization and how it globally supports digital health professionals and thought leadership.

HIMSS Prairie Chapter team will talk about the history of the chapter as well as the benefits of being a chapter member! We will spend some time reviewing available HIMSS certifications and continuing education opportunities. Finally, we will introduce chapter's vision for future chapter events and professional development and networking opportunities.

Jim Burnett -HIMSS, Vice President Engagement Strategies

In his role as Vice President of Engagement Strategies at HIMSS, Jim Burnett brings over 30 years of experience in leading engagement and business development initiatives across both non-profit and for-profit sectors. His proven track record includes the successful development of inclusive community engagement platforms supporting over 100,000 members, innovative product development, and strategic initiatives that exceeded member retention and corporate budgets during challenging economic times. As a strategic thinker with expertise in member engagement, partnerships, and revenue growth, Jim has driven substantial improvements in organizational performance. His leadership experience encompasses founding a cybersecurity technology startup, directing membership strategies at non-profit associations, and spearheading successful business development initiatives at various organizations. 

Jason Carling -Chapter President

Jason is the IT Clinical Systems Enterprise Architect for Alberta Health Services. Jason has spent over 25 years in the field of health IT in a variety of roles ranging from server administration, reporting/analytics, systems integration, development, and business analysis on projects across the care continuum. In his role as an Enterprise Architect Jason works with IT and clinical/business teams on planning, analysis, and solutions. Jason has a degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration specializing in healthcare management. Outside of work, Jason is the President of the HIMSS (Health Information Management Systems Society) Canadian Prairies Chapter, where he was a founding member, and the President of the Calgary Willow Ridge Community Association. In his spare time, you'll find Jason playing board games or in the mountains camping, hiking, and biking with his family.

Olga Maciejewski- Membership Advancement & Professional Development Chair 

Olga is an experienced leader with nearly 20 years of experience with complex projects in the healthcare industry.  Olga holds an MBA specializing in Project Management degree from Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary as well as Project Management Professional (PMP) and CPHIMS-CA certifications. Olga currently works for Alberta Health Services as a Change Management Lead supporting the provincial implementation of the Connect Care clinical information system.  Olga is also a sessional instructor for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Healthcare Leadership Program.  Olga loves volunteering and she has been involved with the Riverbend Community Association for several years. In Nov 2022, Olga was recognized for her commitment to the Riverbend community with The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.
